As the days get shorter and the air turns crisp, wardrobes start to shift: lighter layers make room for coats, knits, and warmer tones. The change of season also brings a clear shift in secondhand shopping trends.
At ReRobe, we’re already seeing what’s moving fast both online and in-store this fall: from the colour palette shoppers are drawn to, to the categories and brands currently in highest demand.
Whether you’re updating your wardrobe or selling pieces you no longer wear, here’s a look at what’s trending in the secondhand market right now, and how to make the most of the season when selling your own clothes.
This fall’s colour palette
As the temperatures drop, wardrobes turn warmer, not just in texture but also in colours. This fall, we’re seeing the classic autumn palette rise in popularity once again among shoppers: different shades of brown, burgundy, caramel, warm yellow, and navy. In addition to these warm neutrals, denim blue is another colour that shoppers are always searching for in the fall.
Alongside these timeless tones, fall 2025 also has its trending colours of the season. This season, it’s pinks, blues, and red. These colours are now often paired with more muted shades for contrast. Think burgundy and light blue, or brown and pink.

Most Wanted Items for October–November
As wardrobes shift towards colder weather, certain categories start to dominate searches and sales in the secondhand space. These are the best-selling categories during the fall time:
Outerwear
Outerwear is at the top of everyone’s list. Trench coats, lightweight down jackets, short transitional jackets, and wool coats are all in high demand right now. Timeless silhouettes in neutral tones tend to sell the quickest, but statement coats in brighter colours or bold patterns are also being searched for by those looking to stand out.

Denim
Denim has always a strong moment in the fall, and this year, even more so. Denim jackets, shirts, and jeans in darker or mid-blue shades are trending, with many shoppers embracing a full denim-on-denim look.
Light denim, on the other hand, tends to sell better in spring, so this season is all about deeper, richer tones.

Knitwear
Now is the perfect time to list knitwear. Chunky jumpers, wool cardigans, and half-zips in soft neutral tones or this season’s trend colours (pink, red, and blue) are among the most sought-after pieces. Knitwear is a true fall essential, and high-quality materials like wool or cashmere often sell the fastest.

Long-sleeved dresses & longer skirts
For those who keep a feminine touch in their fall wardrobes, long-sleeved dresses and longer, thicker skirts are in high demand. Dresses in autumn tones, knitted dresses, or heavier fabrics like suede are especially popular. Pieces that can be styled with boots and outerwear for layering tend to sell quickly during this time of year.

Boots & handbags
When it comes to accessories, leather boots and loafers are clear favourites for fall. At the same time, larger leather handbags (particularly structured work bags) are always in demand as people return to their work and study routines after summer.

Brands currently in high demand
Scandi brands: especially Toteme
Scandinavian brands are consistently in high demand across Sweden’s secondhand scene, all year round. (If you haven’t yet, read our latest blog listing 18 brands that have defined the Scandi style throughout the years.)
Right now, Toteme stands out as one of the most coveted brands. Coats, knits, and accessories from the label sell exceptionally fast thanks to their timeless design and high quality. Other well-known Scandi names like Acne Studios, Filippa K, Ganni, Axel Arigato, and By Malene Birger also continue to perform well, especially in outerwear, denim, and elevated everyday pieces.

H&M Group’s quality brands
In addition to the traditional Scandi staples, the H&M Group’s premium brands, Arket, COS, and &Other Stories, are currently selling quickly. During the fall season, pieces like knitwear, trousers, coats, and long-sleeved dresses and shirts are especially sought after. Items in neutral tones and high-quality materials such as wool, leather, and denim tend to sell fastest, as buyers look for versatile, durable wardrobe pieces for the colder months.

International favourites
Beyond the Nordic sphere, well-known premium and luxury international brands continue to show strong resale value. Luxury labels like Bottega Veneta, Chloé, The Row, Miu Miu, Loewe, Prada, Saint Laurent, and Coach are currently among the most searched globally (according to The Lyst Index Q2 2025). At the same time, more affordable premium brands such as Levi’s, Ralph Lauren, Sandro, Maje, and Sézane continue to uphold their popularity also in the resale market.

How to sell successfully this fall
1. Focus on the Season
The secondhand market moves with the seasons (just like the typical fashion market). Items that match the current weather (coats, boots, knitwear..), as well as pieces in neutral, warm and fall tones, are what buyers are searching for right now.
If you’re planning to sell, focus on pieces that are in season rather than off-season items like summer dresses or sandals. You’ll help your items find new owners faster and make room for your winter wardrobe at the same time.
2. Choose the selling method that fits you
There are many ways to sell secondhand, and the best one depends on how much time you want to spend.
If you enjoy photographing, pricing, and chatting with buyers, an online marketplace might be the right fit. But if you prefer a more effortless experience while still earning from your pre-loved pieces, consignment stores like ReRobe are designed for that. Simply bring in your items, and our team takes care of the rest, from pricing and photography to sales and payment. It’s the easiest way to sell secondhand without having to do the work yourself.
3. Revisit your wardrobe as the season changes
When the weather turns colder towards winter, it’s a good moment to go through your wardrobe again. You might find heavier coats, boots, or knitwear you didn’t reach for this year: those pieces are perfect to sell before the holidays.
Regular wardrobe check-ins help you keep your closet more curated and make sure your best pieces get the use they deserve.
